PDF file is a well known format used to publish information related to software or any tutorials. Sometimes we create our own PDF file and intend to be read by group of people, may be friends or Colleagues.

In such cases it is better to password protect your PDF files. So that the user will be prompted to enter a password, before reading the secure PDF file.

With Drumlin Reader you can convert PDF file into password protected Digital Rights Format (DRM). Once the DRM file is created the users who will open the PDF will be promoted to type the password to view the content.

To secure your PDF file all you have to do is open the PDF file using Drumlin reader, click on ‘file’ option and select ‘Publish Documents’. You will find a window with options which says ‘Generate Basic DRM file’, select it and click on ‘Password’ tab to set a password.

Finally, click on save. Your PDF file will be converted into fully secured DRM format and any user who tries to read the DRM file, will have to type the Password.

You can also try the more secure DRMX file format which will connect with the Drumlin Server and provide a unique Authorization code, Document ID and Password.
