When there is a need to explain anything technical to your friends, then one of the best methods used is to create a video of the tutorials. If you are able to record all the steps, it will be easier to understand. To do this I would be using a screen recording software. This will help me to record video of my screen.

Jing is a free screen recording software with many useful features. Once you download and the install Jing, you will find a sun like button a the top of your desktop screen.

Click on capture button and just drag and drop on an area of your screen. The image will be saved and you can add text and highlight positions within the image, using editing tools. The image link can be easily shared with your friends via Gtalk, Yahoo Messenger or any other IM service.

To record a video, drag and drop portion of a screen and select ‘Capture Video’. The recording will get started and you can either save it or upload it to screencast.com. The video link can be shared via IM with your friends, making easier to share your recorded video.
